How To Enter
The 2010 Awards will open for entries on January 1. Please use the guidelines below to prepare your entry. Once you complete your submissions, click the 'Enter Now' button to begin the entry process.
Entry is online
All entries should relate to the period between January 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. After studying the entry details, please complete the online entry form and and upload it, together with your illustrated submission and the correct entry fee. Previous entrants to the Marketing Design Awards will not be allowed to enter the same project in the 2010 Awards without significant changes to the design.
Your submission paper will be essential to the judging. Please make sure that you illustrate the text with small, clear images to help the judges understand your entry and do include a distilled version of any research or evaluation data.
If you are entering the same project into multiple categories, please do consider if the written submission should be altered to reflect the challenges met for that particular category. One submission will need to be uploaded on the entry system for every category entered.
Companies, consultancies, agencies or individuals may submit entries on behalf of themselves or others in any number of categories. Employees and representatives of Marketing are not eligible to enter. Agencies of Marketing may not enter any work carried out on behalf of the magazine, though they can enter work done for other titles or divisions within Haymarket Media Group. The decisions of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning them. Any queries on categories or eligibility of entries should be made to the Marketing Design Awards helpline during office hours on + 44 (0) 20 8267 4433.
The closing date for entries is July 31, 2010
Preparing your entry
Please describe in no more than 1000 words how your company has used brand design to enhance the marketing of products and improve business performance. First draft a 100 word summary, then use your 1000 word allowance to set out your objectives, describe the solution you adopted, your methods, and most importantly, where relevant, quantify the success achieved. Your submission should be the equivalent of an illustrated document word-processed on plain white A4 paper, in text no smaller than 10 point, following the four-part outline below.
Project summary
Approximately 100 words summarising the project (this is in addition to your 1000 word submission allowance)
Submission template
1. Brief/issue
Approximately 100 words describing what your design initiative set out to address
2. Solution
Approximately 300 words describing your strategy and creative approach
3. Implementation
Approximately 300 describing your methods and timescale for implementation
4. Benefits
Approximately 300 words detailing the results.
PLEASE NOTE: These word counts are a guide only. You may be able to describe the Brief in 10 words, in which case you may carry the “spare” words over to another section of your submission. But the judges will mark down any over length entries.
