About The Awards

Design for marketing

Who should enter?

The Awards are open to organisations of all sizes that can clearly show how their use of design for marketing - whether in the UK or overseas markets - has formed an integral part of their marketing planning and implementation and had an impact on the performance of their brand and their business. Entries are sought from brand consultancies, independent designers, design consultancies, in-house design departments, advertising, public relations, sales promotion, direct marketing and other marketing services agencies, communications agencies and web design and development companies.

How entries will be judged

The Awards are divided into 20 categories to reflect the diversity of the applications of design - 12 product sector categories and 8 design use categories. An overall Marketing Design Award will be presented to the best entry of all, with the winner being decided by the independent jury.

The jury will be able to study each submission and award marks for understanding of brief, strategy, creative treatment, implementation and results. Supporting material, such as initial roughs, electronic media, samples, etc will be called for from short-listed finalists only and made available to the judges to give them greater insight into the projects entered.

Awards Presentation

Winners of each category will receive a trophy and certificate. Certificates will also be awarded to any Highly Commended finalists. These will be presented at the Marketing Design Awards luncheon on November 4, 2009.
